On January 3, 2015, more than 2,200 Challenge Groups and tens of thousands of participants in 11 countries joined the movement to set a record for the World’s Largest Simultaneous Group Workout.
And judging from all the event pictures, videos and press coverage, it’s easy to see how losing weight, getting fit and leading a healthy lifestyle with others can be…FUN. Even adventurous.
At 12 p.m. in every time zone, people from our global Vi Community stepped up and led group workouts—everything from walking and hiking, to kayaking, boot camps, dancing (even clogging!). The event showed how getting healthy can happen for anyone, anywhere! It just starts by setting a goal.
We saw groups (from four people to more than 100!) work out in homes, parking lots, stairs, playgrounds, churches, gyms, tennis courts, swimming pools, beaches, mountains, and ski slopes. People challenged themselves…no matter rain or shine. Or snow. Lots of snow. Like when 53 people from Vi Finland walked together in a snowstorm.
After seeing all the comment threads and TV interviews flooding the news channels, we’re thrilled to know that not only did this event inspire people to kick start their 2015 health resolutions, it brought awareness to our PROJECT 10 Kids program.
For each participant, we’re sending 30 meal donations to a PROJECT 10 Kids charity. Multiply that number by the thousands and thousands who participated…and that’s a lot of meals to help children on their journey to better nutrition!
As we’re still collecting and tallying the numbers from the event, we need your sign-in sheets and videos to get the official number. The process is easy:
- Scan and email sign-in sheets to firstname.lastname@example.org. (If you don’t have a scanner, snap a clear picture of it, make sure names are legible, and email the image)
- Upload event videos to videoupload.com
