Where do you draw inspiration? We know it can be tough to get to the gym or outdoors and kick it into action some days. On top of that, having to really reconsider which foods and how much of those foods you put into your body takes a whole lot of will power. Even though Vi products taste great and are good for you, sometimes all you dream about are a hamburger and fries. We get it. That’s why we’ve put together six health, fitness and lifestyle mantras that will remind you to push yourself because, well, you’re worth it. Challenge on.
#1–Know your limitations then defy them.
It’s important to know how far to push yourself without getting hurt while working out. But as soon as you feel like you’re about to hit a wall, take a deep breath, focus, and push your body just a tiny bit further. You’ll feel proud and accomplished when you break through your barriers.
#2–It’s the start that stops most people.
Getting started on a project, a diet, a workout routine—whatever—is the hardest part. But every journey starts with the first step so be encouraged. Once you take that initial step, you can only move forward on the path to success. Stop talking, start doing.
#3–Strive for progress not perfection.
Nobody is perfect, which is kind of a huge relief. Accept and embrace your flaws because they are what make you unique. And flaws are a great place to start on the road to self-improvement.
#4–Life is short, live your dream.
You’ve heard it before. Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. Cliché? Maybe. But this maxim rings true like no other. You only have one life so live it with passion. The work will be more gratifying and the rewards sweeter when you pursue your true life’s work.
#5–Success does not come to you, you go to it.
It’s time to roll up your sleeves and get ready to move mountains. Anything that’s worth your time and attention requires a ton of effort. But with that effort comes success. Ultimately, you’ll reap the fruits of your labor so go forward with intention.
#6–Breathe through it.
One, two, three. Breathe. It’s free, it’s simple and beneficial to your mind and body. According to National Public Radio (NPR) deep, focused breathing can have a positive impact on the heart, brain and digestive and immune systems. When faced with a roadblock, whether in your business or with your Challenge, pause and take a deep breath to help mitigate your response to stress.
