Thanks to ViSalus Founders Ryan Blair, Blake Mallen and Nick Sarnicola; the Vi Community; and social media, 12-year-old Sam Holtz added $20,000 to his college scholarship fund to prepare for what looks like a very bright future. The sixth grade Lake Zurich boy made national headlines when he submitted a nearly perfect NCAA basketball team bracket to ESPN.
“My parents have always taught me that if you do right, good things will happen,” said Sam in a statement.
Sam was ineligible to claim the $20,000 gift card prize and trip to Hawaii due to his age, but ViSalus stepped in and funded a scholarship for the whiz kid after picking up his story and connecting with Sam’s parents.
