Three years ago when Pat Ryan’s doctor suggested an invasive surgery to lose weight, he knew it was finally time to do something about it… without shortcuts.
Pat lost 56 lbs. on his first Challenge. “I knew I had to do something to help me get back to being the man and father I had been before I reached 430 lbs,” he said.
With each Challenge Pat took on, his life increasingly changed for the better. “Before I couldn’t play with my toddler at my heaviest because doing so got me too winded and tired. Now I run circles around him. The sixth Challenge ended May 2013 and was a test of strength for me,” he said. It was also The Challenge that made him an Active Challenge Champion.
Today Pat weighs in at 294 lbs. with a 51″ chest, 40″ waist, 43″ hips and body fat of 15%. “I have learned the three Cs of life: choices, chances and changes. You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change,” he said.
Recently Pat was featured on BodyBuilding.com, in which he shared his transformation—from weight-loss, to active, to fitness—after nearly three years of Challenging himself… with no plans of slowing down.
